Birthday Wishes For Cancer Patients

Birthday Wishes For Cancer Patients

For the past few years, The American Cancer Society has been putting effort for people all around the world to stay healthy, learn about cancer, find support and treatment, explore and research, and without doubt getting people involved; Making that my primary reason of sharing this post with our fellow daydreamers.

Just think about it, is there anything more valuable than a birthday wish to a cancer survivor? Some people celebrate a life time while others celebrate the blessing of living one more year..just one. Once again :) loving how daydreams give me ideas to share with you guys, I thought that this would be a great way to spread awareness even though people are already aware, with a good deed and great intention I believe you can preach the most powerful messages.

Enough of me rambling  ;p here’s how you can help.

Demand A Plan

A powerful message from Beyoncé

2012 has had more than enough gun violence not just in the United States but all over the world.

We see “Demand A Plan” as a movment that helps spread awareness, but instead of asking for more, this movment is saying ENOUGH for once and for all. A big fat chubby ENOUGH to make it clear to everyone and anyone that violence had reached its limit.

As a student that studies in the United States this concerns me, not only becuase Im living here, but the fact that it can happen to anyone anywhere, no matter how safe your community is, no matter how many locks you have on your door, whether you sleep with one eye open or die defending yourself, these things never fail to happen. And it concerns me.

So from Daydreamers Nest, to our community of dreamers, where ever you live around the world, march to your leaders and DEMAND A PLAN.

Watch the personal stories of people affected by these tragedies.

PUGS NOT DRUGS!

We’ve all heard it, don’t do drugs!

And the last thing I want to do is sit here and tell you the same, so I say

PUGS NOT DRUGS!

(because you can never go wrong with pugs, my absolute favorite breed of dogs!)

The pictures will speak for themselves, but i just wanted to say in all seriousness, drugs are no joke and who ever takes that path, please reconsider. Drugs can have severe LIFE threatening risks, its not all fun and games. I’m not even going to go into them. As Marcus Tullius Cicero once said “Any man can make mistakes, but only an idiot persists in his error.”

Before i end this, i just wanted to mention the sad tragedy that happened at King Edward VII Hospital in central London. It is just another sad example of how things can get out of hand and how they CAN be prevented. Just because we can’t predict the outcome, it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t take caution in what we do. Just like drugs.

Keep dreaming!

Anonymous Confessions

Imagine sharing your deepest secret with the world. A public art project by american artist Candy Chang, invites people to share their confessions “anonymously”. She turned a studio gallery into a meditative place for people to share their confessions. Inspired by Shinto shrine prayer walls, Post Secret, and Catholicism, people could write and submit their confessions on wooden plaques in the privacy of confession booths.

By the end of the exhibition, over 1500 confessions were displayed on the walls. Confessions about love and hate, over-confidence or the fear of dying alone. Dreamers, this helps us see we are not alone in our quirks, experiences, and struggles as we try to lead fulfilling lives.

Markaz21′s charity bazaar!

Hello dreamers!

We would like to dedicate this week’s post to talk about Markaz 21, an amazing organization. Here are a few words from them.

“Markaz 21 is a voluntary group of friends and family of those with severe intellectual and physical disabilities above the age of 21. Our aim is to establish the first entertainment and developmental centre for those age 21+. Schools stop accepting students when they turn 21 leaving them stuck at home unproductive.

We will like to welcome you to our charity bazaar Nov. 4&5 at movenpick albida’a to raise funds for our initiative! Join us to support special needs and have fun with all your favorite Kuwaiti designers, foods and much more!”

The Art of Giving

For all the givers out there, your gonna thank me for this post!

You give and you get, isn’t that how it has always worked?

I’ll start of by saying that there wasn’t a single incident that I gave and didn’t get back. I guess Karma and I get along pretty well. As daydreamers  we made a commitment to do something human each day, and there is nothing better than giving! Maybe to you its too much at first but soon if you stay relentless it becomes part of your daily routine!

Well you might ask, what about the people who give but never get back?

I’ll start of by saying that its not necessary that what you give out comes back to you in the same form. The truth is that it comes with the same value. Would you believe me if I tell you that one little incident could have made Karma work against you? Yes! Just one silly encounter may have made karma inverse it powers. And all you have to do, is with an intention giving back to erase that from your past, is give back! So at least for today, dedicate some effort towards giving to someone in need. After all giving is living!

So here’s to the givers! Keep giving! Keep dreaming!

Inspiration: Where to find it and how to keep it!

Now we all know inspiration comes in many forms and as easy as that sounds, its not quite that straight forward. So I’m writing this guide you might call to help those who need a little tap into the right side of their brains!

First of all, I believe the best way to ‘find’ inspiration is to not look for it in the first place! Its not a physical object, you can’t find it.  You can feel it. Think about it this way: Do you look for happiness? No! You do something you enjoy and happiness comes along.

So here are 3 basic tips to help transform you into the Picasso within you!

Tip 1:

Be active! Slacking off physically & mentally does not help, it actually prevents ‘inspiration’. Find something you love whether its music, a sport, reading, drawing or writing, and just do it.

Tip 2:

Don’t stress! Stress can lead to depression, fatigue, heart disease and many other problems! There has been a study that shows that just enough amount of stress can actually be healthy. However when thats not the case, there’s a breathing technique that helps in moments where you’re just about to blow up! Close your eyes, and take 10 deep breathes. This will not only calm you done, it will get your nervous system back to balance!

Tip 3:

Find time to meditate! Whether its fun or serious we all need time in our day to find our balance. To be honest this is the hardest tip i had to learn in getting ‘inspired’ because sometimes we forget or we get caught up in other matters.  What i’ve learned is to make it a daily habit. Meditation can help unclog any ‘negative’ thoughts.

Now how easy are those 3 tips?

Go off and find your inner Picasso!
